The Work Introduction Course (W.I.C)
Employability Skills:
We want to make sure you are prepared for your career to your highest ability. So you will have the opportunity to undertake real-life work experiences and training to develop your confidence; and the skills that employers really need.
Mathematics & English:
If you have not achieved a grade C in either Mathematics or English at GCSE level. You will be able to (re)take these. However, some students may have to take Functional Skills. These qualifications are vital for employment, as well as further and higher education establishments.
Main Vocational Qualification:
This is the portfolio aspect of your course. It will involve building a detailed summary of your year after undertaking the W.I.C.
Showing how you got involved with and in a variety of activities and events that were made available to you through your enrolment on the course. These will include class excursions, visits, guest speakers, presentations, voluntary work and competitions.
Personal and Professional Development:
As a student or learner at Chertsey College you will receive a comprehensive level of support during your time with us; and will undoubtedly enable you to succeed, to the best of your ability. You will have access to experts in the respective fields of knowledge. As well as excellent resources and facilities not only within the college building but with the local town and the wider community.
